The Profile View needs a height and width to contain enough working space in which to design a drill:

The top and bottom elevation of the Profile View can be set with actual elevations. A proposal is made according to the elevations of the EG Profile and can be adjusted. The height of the Profile View can be automatically reduced in the finalizing stage, so enough space can be set here for the design without any problem.

If the drill is part of a series of drills along the trace, a deviating start and end station can be specified for the display of the Profile View. This will not be drawn over the full length of the trace. In most cases this is not necessary and is there no problem to keep the length of the Profile View equal to the length of the trace.
