Construct
The 'Construct' tab is used to edit the import files format and other settings for construction:
Import files format
Custom import file definitions can be created which are used as soon as field data needs to be read in. The 'Manage' button opens a new dialog:
New import file definitions can be created. A dialog appears in which the name, file type and possibly a column separator can be specified:
If an Excel format is chosen then no column separator or extension can be selected.
When using Excel files, the field data is always read from the first sheet. |
After creating a definition, the various columns can be set and the number of lines to be ignored can be specified. To show a preview, a sample file can be loaded.
The import file definitions are used as soon as field data is read.
Scaling
If during import it is found that the horizontal length of the path differs from the horizontal length of the field data, the application may suggest scaling the field data to the specified path. This path can often be measured more accurately using GPS. To avoid that every minuscule deviation results in a scaling, you can specify a distance difference which still is acceptable. The import is not scaled or suggested to be scaled.
