Continuous curve
A continuous curve consists of three segments:
•Ascending straight line
•Middle curve
•Descending straight line
The descending straight line starts from the entry point, the ascending straight line ends at the exit point. A continuous curve always requires both an entry and exit point.
Entry and exit point
The drill centerline will begin and end at these points. If the entry point is placed on the right side of the exit point, the drill direction will be reversed. The present control points will also be taken into account (only between the entry and exit points):
Maximum radius
If the maximum radius is set, the application will try to keep the straight lines as short as possible.
Outside longitudinal section
It can happen that based on the set values a design would end up outside the Profile View. The application reports this and displays a preview of temporary lines that can be removed with the REGEN command. If the intersection of the line segments falls below the Profile View, the application asks whether the Profile View should be extended to provide more working space.
After designing, the design is checked immediately for deviations.
