Trace

 

A trace is necessary for designing a drill. This is the top view of the drill line. The trace is usually drawn slightly longer than the drill itself, to allow for some leeway if a drill needs to be longer than originally planned. A trace can also be much longer if there are multiple drills in several places along the trace.

A trace is a Civil 3D object of type Alignment. Start the indicated button on the Palette:

The following dialog appears:

Enter a name and description. In the next step it is possible to select the source for the EG profile.
